Dr. Bawumia Advocates Solar Power, Credit and Training for Artisans in Stakeholder Engagement
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia met the Ghana Artisans Association in Accra. He is the former Vice President and NPP Presidential Candidate. The meeting covered ongoing stakeholder consultations.

It brought together hairdressers, beauticians, tailors, dressmakers, barbers, and construction industry representatives. Furthermore, artisans shared direct accounts of daily challenges. They also explored practical solutions to grow their industries.
Artisans Can Drive Job Creation and Local Economic Growth
Dr. Bawumia stressed the artisan sectorโs huge potential for job creation. He said Ghana must make deliberate efforts to support these industries. Moreover, he said empowering artisans goes beyond individual livelihoods. The sector can absorb many young people. It can also drive local economic growth. As a result, he called for focused interventions to unlock that potential.
Solar Power, Credit and Simplified Taxes Top Bawumiaโs Agenda
Dr. Bawumia named four key areas needing urgent action. First, artisans need training and certification to improve skills. Second, they need solar power to cut high energy costs. Third, they need better access to credit for tools and expansion. Fourth, they need a simpler tax system. Therefore, he said these steps will make the sector more productive. They will also attract more young Ghanaians into the trades.
Part of Broader NPP Consultations With Industry Groups
This meeting forms part of Dr. Bawumiaโs wider consultations across Ghana. He wants to hear concerns from trade groups and industry players. He also aims to build a shared vision for inclusive growth. In addition, the engagement shows the NPPโs push to connect with grassroots economic actors. Dr. Bawumia continues to champion practical economic solutions for everyday Ghanaians.
