Ghana Records 44 Nationals on US “Worst of the Worst” Criminal Aliens List
Ghana has 44 nationals on the US Department of Homeland Security’s Worst of the Worst database. The list targets criminal non-citizens in the United States. Earlier in 2026, only 32 Ghanaians appeared on it. An update in late August and September added 12 new names. Ghana now ranks third among West African countries. Nigeria leads with 134 names. Liberia follows with 111.
What Is the US Worst of the Worst Database?
The US launched the Worst of the Worst database in December 2025. It is available at wow.dhs.gov. The Trump administration created it to strengthen immigration enforcement. ICE uses it to publish names, photos, arrest locations, and criminal histories of non-citizens. DHS describes those listed as priority cases for removal.
Furthermore, DHS says the platform increases transparency around serious criminal arrests. At the time of the latest update, the West African section listed 427 individuals from 16 countries.
Offences Linked to Ghanaian Entries
The 44 Ghanaian entries cover a range of serious offences. These include fraud, money laundering, identity theft, and drug-related charges. Robbery, burglary, sexual offences, and immigration violations also appear.
In addition, some profiles mention alleged gang affiliations. US states where arrests occurred include Florida, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Texas. DHS says the database targets criminal non-citizens. It does not focus on any particular nationality.
Ghana Third Among West African Countries
Nigeria and Liberia have consistently topped the West African entries since December 2025. Ghana now sits third on the list. Moreover, the database has drawn wide attention across West Africa. Media outlets in Ghana and other countries have shared names and photos from the list. As a result, the Worst of the Worst database continues to attract scrutiny across the region.
